Pierre Lapointe’s career really took off in September 2001 when he was awarded grand prize winner at the Festival international de la chanson de Granby. Almost four years later (May 2004), he released his first eponymous album. Since then, he has released more than ten albums, of which several have been distributed in France and in Belgium. In Quebec, his album sales total nearly 500 000 copies, spanning his decade long career.
First, there was Émilie who loved Kim’s poetry, so she asked her to write song lyrics for her. Then came Joseph who composed the first music tracks to compliment Kim’s words and Émilie’s voice and airy melodies. Finally, entered phenomenal musical collaborators such as : David Altmejd, François Lafontaine, Robbie Kuster, Philippe Brault, Guido del
Fabro and Pierre Girard. Forêt is the trip of composing music without limits and songs that transcend reality. Forêt is about getting lost in your dreams.
