Alex Nevsky follows a creative path through journeys of love; he travels through Turkey, France, Germany, Spain and Denmark. Colorful horizons, the heaviness of certain sentiments, changing temperatures, summits never too high and the glances of passers-by become the inspiration behind the writing and the composing of his second album “Himalaya mon amour”. The year following the launch of his second album was a decisive one in Alex Nevsky’s career, a year characterized by numerous shows, television appearances and nominations. He was nominated for the Prix de la Chanson Félix-Leclerc and in the same week performed his sold-out show at Club Soda during the FrancoFolies. During this time, the second single of the album, Les Coloriés, was reaching remarkable success. The song reached the top of the BDS Chart eleven times, becoming the 2014 #1 single.Alex Nevsky is nominated four times at this fall’s ADISQ Gala, notably in the Album of the year – Critical Acclaim category. He will be called on stage to collect three of the most prestigious trophies: Album of the Year – Pop, Male Artist of the Year and Song of the Year for On leur a fait croire.
In 2009, Philémon Cimon travels to Cuba and by chance, he meets musicians from the area and spends two days at the studio Egrem de Centro Habana. Eleven songs are recorded and make up the first album: Les sessions cubaines. In 2010, Philémon releases it independently. “His music and his unique voice blend well with the tender and deep nature of Havana.” (La Presse) A few months later, the Audiogram label becomes interested in Philémon Cimon’s project and releases the album anew. After touring, Philémon creates L’été, an album recorded at Montreal’s Hotel2Tango studio where the singer gathered a Babylonian chaos of musicians from the French, English and Spanish scene. “Philémon tracks with poetry the fragile beauty of the world.” (Marie-Hélène Poitras). In September 2015, Philémon Cimon will release Les femmes comme des montagnes, the third album of the triptych. The album is yet another one recorded in Havana, but this time with a breakthrough band from Montreal and wild Cubans who came together at last to lace the night with brass and entrancing tracks.
