ThisCoTech is a collective from Montreal, Quebec, founded by, DawnBeat (Danny Trudeau) and, Fiz (Olivier Fiset). They are collaborating with a number of special guests, including Elizabeth Blouin-Brathwaite, Valerie Daure, Willis Pride and many more.. ThisCoTech invited a total of 25 musicians to record on their debut album, mixing Disco, Soul, Funk, R&B, influenced by World music with a touch of electronic. It’s a setup of ten vocalists, a string quartet, three-piece horn section (saxophone, trombone, trumpet), a flute, a guitar and a bass, a Grand Piano, a Rhodes, some synths and a drum kit with three percussionists.

Fiz: Drummer, Keyboardist, Composer, Songwriter, Producer

DawnBeat and Fiz both attended St-Laurent College (where they met), and Fiz also went to University of Montreal. DawBeat first made his name as a sideman on various Cruise ships then all over the Quebec touring with many genres of artists. Fiz also made his name as a sideman on Drum as well as on Keyboards.

Friends from college years, they were a simple two-person studio project. After years of hard work on the pre-prod, they then decided to ditch virtual instruments to recruit friends to record live instruments. The Duo really wanted everyone to have a good time in studio while working on the tracks. Every guest was welcome to give their input on the songs. This way, the participation and knowledge of everyone is reflected in the final work. For the first ThisCoTech’s album, they wanted it to turn much like a compilation of singles over their 15 tracks LP. Lyrics are about love stories, nightlife and sensuality. Their first mission is to make people feel like dancing through out the funky basslines and disco beats.
