H'Sao

H'Sao

H’Sao embodies a blend of cultures and influences with a magnetic appeal combining gospel, soul, jazz, and R&B in outstanding performances. Their most striking feature lies in the stellar quality of their singing, their unified choir of voices, and the charming complicity between the performers.
The pastor, named them Hirondelle, (swallow) in reference to the fearlessness of this bird which seeks to fly above the highest peaks. Charles and Service join the group, now renamed H’Sao « Sao's swallow ». In 1994, the band is invited to participate in a musical festival organized by the French Cultural centre in Chad’s capital, N’djamena.
At this stage, their musical instruments being rudimentary, H’Sao makes use of their vocal skills to compose music and develop arrangements to be later transposed for varied instrumentation. This groundwork lays a solid foundation for fine tuning what is now an H’Sao trademark - their stunning a cappella versions, so perfectly rendered. The band is selected to represent their country at the Francophone Games held in Ottawa in July 2001. This event is an assembly of the top talents in sports and culture within the francophone worldwide community. H’Sao wins a bronze medal.
In April 2001, H’Sao moves to Montreal and starts on a rigorous touring schedule.
In June 2003, a first album is launched during the Montreal International Jazz Festival
Virtuoso singers with amazing a cappella renditions, this young, talented group draws inspiration from the traditions of their country of origin, Chad (more than 200 ethnic groups). To this they add a love of gospel, soul, jazz and pop. H’Sao blends all these styles with a joyous appreciation of African rhythms.
In November 2008, H’sao starts its own label company, Production Ndjam Inc. on which they release <<Vol 235 >>the following year.
